Australians have had a long love affair with wallpaper. But, as in
all affairs, they have been times of great affection and others of disenchantment
and derision. Climate, changes in fashion, concerns about cleanliness in the home
and developments in paint and wallpaper technology have influenced the relationship.
However, for more than 200 years Australians of all income levels and from all parts
of the country have taken advantage of the color, pattern and texture afforded by
wallpaper.
